TRAVEL CANCELLATION POLICY- Terms and Condition
The Travel Cancellation Policy is provided by Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd. (hereinafter “RGIC”) for the customers of MakeMyTrip (India) Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter “MMT”), offering coverage against the cancellation charges of the flights in the event of Visa rejection.

Policy Claim Conditions -
- This product is applicable exclusively to Tourist Visa Applications and is not valid for any other visa types, such as Work Visa, Business Visa, Student Visa or Resident Visas.
- Claims are applicable solely to the insured covered under the Travel Cancellation Policy facing visa rejection.
- MMT may charge fees in the nature of administrative charges for the Travel Cancellation Policy.
- The policy shall not cover cases of delay in visa acceptance or rejection. In case of cancellation of flight by the passenger due to delay in visa, normal cancellation charges shall apply.
- To initiate a claim for recovery of the flight ticket amount, the user shall cancel their tickets at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
- Users are required to upload the necessary claim documents within 72 hours after cancelling their flight, including the Visa rejection letter or any relevant document per the specific country's requirements. The documents must be dated on or before the departure date.
- Visa rejection letters dated after the date of departure shall not be accepted and will not be considered under the policy.
- Claims submitted after the above timeline will not be processed.
- The policy is not applicable in the case of bulk bookings i.e., bookings for more than 9 passengers.
- For bookings with multiple passengers (not bulk bookings), claims will be honored only for passengers whose visas are rejected.
- Claims undergo approval consideration based on criteria outlined in the Travel Cancellation Policy as issued by RGCI. In case you require copy of the policy, please feel free to reach out to us.
- MMT is only the Master Cover Policy Holder and RGCI retains the right to investigate and reject claims perceived as fraudulent or inconsistent with the terms and conditions and MMT will not be liable or responsible whatsoever for any binding decision made by RGCI.
Policy Exclusions -
- Destinations offering visas upon arrival are not covered by this policy.
- Visa delay is not considered as a valid reason under this policy.
- The policy applies only to the journeys originating from India to foreign destinations. In case of stay over in any country, the flights from that country to further destinations will not be covered under the policy.
- The product doesn’t apply in cases where a transit visa is rejected.
- Claims will be rejected if users cancel their tickets within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time. E.g. if the flight is scheduled for 10 a.m. on 2nd May 2024, the ticket shall be cancelled on or before 10 a.m. on 1st May 2024.
- The policy is inapplicable in case the flights are cancelled by the concerned flight operator.
- Refunds for discount coupons and/or purchased add-ons are not covered by this policy.

The policy is applicable only in the cases of visa rejection and not
to any other cases including but not limited to:
- Unilateral Cancellation by concerned flight operator.
- No-Show by the Ticket Holder.
- Consequential Losses and Legal Liabilities.
- Bulk Booking.
- Cyber Issues.
- Illegal Events.
- Governmental banning of public gatherings.
- Law and Order.
- Change in Cancellation Policy of the Supplier.
- Disputed Booking.
- Disputed Cancellation.
- Bankruptcy of the concerned flight operator.
- Restrain, Arrest, Detention or Summon for Investigation of the Ticket Holder.
- Ionizing Radiations.
- Nuclear Weapons.
- Incidental Expenses.
- Late Reporting of Claims.
- Acts of Terrorism.
- War, Civil Unrest and Rebellions.
General Terms and Conditions
- The user agreement, terms of service and privacy policy of MakeMyTrip shall apply.
- Customers who are travel agents by occupation are barred from making bookings for their customers and MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the offer or cancel the booking. MakeMyTrip shall not refund the booking amount in such cases.
- MakeMyTrip reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this offer by another offer, whether similar to this offer or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
- MakeMyTrip is the sole authority for interpretation of these terms.
- In the event of any misuse or abuse of the offer by the customer or travel agent, MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the offer or cancel the booking.
- Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with this offer shall be subjected to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Gurugram, Haryana, India.
