Free Date Change
When a user (hereinafter “you”, “your” or “Customer”) makes a booking through MakeMyTrip website and/or their respective mobile applications (collectively “Platform”), the below mentioned terms and conditions shall apply regarding the concerned offer laid hereunder.
The Free Date Change insurance product is issued by Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd to the users of MakeMyTrip (India) Private Limited and is valid till 24 hrs. before scheduled departure time of the flight.
This Product can be purchased by the customers of MakeMyTrip while making an international flight booking through the Platform. Please note that this product is valid for travelers aged between 2 years to 70 years. Once the product is purchased, it becomes non-refundable.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
During the booking process, select the Product by paying an additional fee per passenger & enjoy the benefit of Free Date Change i.e. your travel date can be changed by just paying the fare difference without being charged any other penalties for the changed booking.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?
- The customer can perform a date change upto 24 hrs. before the flight’s departure.
- The booking can be postponed up to 90 Days from the original date of departure. However, there is no such restriction in case of pre-ponement/advancement.
- The offer can only be availed upon making an international flight booking through Platform. It is not available independently for sale through the Platform.
- The offer is valid only on international Flights.
- The offer can only be availed on a booking basis i.e. if there is a flight booking for 3 people then the offer can only be availed for the entire booking, no date change can take place for 1 person independently in the same booking.
- For Multi PNR bookings, users will only be able to avail the date change benefit on one of the PNRs.
- Customers can use the date change benefit only once. For roundtrip itineraries, they can change the date for either the onward journey, the return journey, or both legs at the same time. However, they cannot make separate date changes on two different occasions.
- Date changes for the return leg are not permitted after flying the onward leg.
- Airline add-ons such as seats, meals, baggage, and non-airline purchases like insurance will not automatically transfer to the revised flight itinerary after a date change. All such add-ons will be considered void and non-refundable.
- A Customer will be eligible for the Product subject to the respective airline policy regarding free date change.
- In case a customer has opted for the part payment option, he/she must complete the remaining payment before availing of the free date change benefit.
- A Customer will not be eligible for the offer in the following events:
- If the Airline changes the flight timings;
- If the Airline cancels the booking entirely;
- In both the above-mentioned situations, the free date change option shall be provided by the Airline, at its sole discretion, to the Customer. The offer by MakeMyTrip shall stand void in these situations and MakeMyTrip shall not be liable or responsible to return the amount of Premium collected against the offer.
- Eligibility for the offer:
- The customer’s origin and destination of the booking must be the same while making the date change.
- Customer should not be in the no-show window for that flight.
- Customer must choose another flight from the same airline.
- Customer must choose another flight from the same airline.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- The Product is valid on International Flights bookings only.
- The fee once paid against the Product is non-refundable.
- No benefit will be paid for amendments done through any platform other than MMT.
- Amendments, if made by the airline, are not covered under any circumstances.
- MakeMyTrip shall not be responsible for any delay, improper services provided by the provider of services, for any injury, death, loss, or damage caused by the act or default of the management or employees of the provider who are MakeMyTrip’s independent contractors.
- Any travel to countries which are banned by the government will not come under the purview of this cover.
- MakeMyTrip does not accept responsibility for losses and additional expenses, due to delays or changes in air, train, ships, or other services, missed connections, sicknesses, weather, strikes, quarantine, or other causes, howsoever caused, and all such losses and expenses caused must be borne by the Customer.
- Any date change may incur an additional charge and the same shall be applicable on the basis of the new date selected by the Customer as per the respective provider policy.
- Pandemic declared by the government of the following countries during the journey will not be considered:
- Country from where the flight will be taken.
- Any country where a flight takes stops to reach its destination.
- Country where the flight lands and journey ends.
- MakeMyTrip reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change/withdraw or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this Product/contest by another Product, whether similar to this Product/contest or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
- If the payment towards the booking is made through CC/DC, the Customer shall approach the bank for any claims related thereof and MakeMyTrip shall not entertain any such claims.
- MakeMyTrip shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to a force majeure event.
- MakeMyTrip shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the Product. Notwithstanding anything contrary contained hereunder, in no event shall the aggregate liability of MakeMyTrip under this Product exceed the amount of the booking/transaction against which the Product was availed by the Customer.
- MakeMyTrip may suspend or terminate these terms and conditions/Product at any time for any reason at their discretion.
- For any card-related claims, the Customer shall approach the relevant bank and MakeMyTrip shall not entertain any such claims.
- By participating in this offer, the Customer gives MakeMyTrip permission to use the Customer’s name, image, and any other details or information available on the Customer’s social media profiles, in any manner, to promote the offer or MakeMyTrip brand name or services.
- In the event of any misuse or abuse of the Product by the Customer or travel agent, MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the Product or cancel the booking.
- All disputes arising out of or in connection with this offer are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi only.
- All other terms and conditions listed in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy available on the MakeMyTrip platform will be applicable to this offer. The User Agreement and Privacy Policy are available on the MakeMyTrip website. Customers who are Travel Agents by occupation are barred from making bookings for their customers and MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the offer against such bookings or to cancel such bookings.
